Electric Forest Music Festival - Rothbury, Michigan - June 26, 2014I can only imagine the first time seeing the Grand Canyon, and the astonishment of its breath taking view. I experienced this type of astonishment and awe when walking into the magical Sherwood Forest at Electric Forest. Everywhere one would look there are actors walking around on stilts, or countless types of visual art and designs to blow your mind. Electric Forest started out with all guns firing on day one with great acts taking the stage all day. Each of these bands thus far this weekend has played up to and beyond any expectations. The amazingly talented members of Nahko and Medicine for the People brought their energy and skills to the Sherwood Court Stage late in the afternoon. EOTO then followed and filled the air with beats and bass that these two SCI members are know for. Umphrey’s McGee then took the stage for the first of two sets that they would melt faces and rock the crowd on this night. During the UM set break the Indianapolis Favorite Cosby Sweater took the stage for their first set of the weekend, playing one song with UM keyboardist Joel Cummins. All and all, day one went above and beyond. I couldn’t imagine anywhere better to be than in the forest enjoying some of music’s best acts playing in Rothbury, Michigan.
